Fort Myers, FL
It looks like the district may have gotten some good news yesterday regarding Wetland 47. According to Gateway District Manager Brian Lamb, Friendly Fire now says they are going to comply with the district's request to complete $25,000 worth of work on the wetland at no charge. "We went on a site review with him, he is going to revise his proposal based on our review and direction" Lamb said.
It's unclear where the rest of the matter is with the Country Club because the Gateway Services District Board of Supervisors has not officially met, having to cancel it's two previous meetings due to a lack of a quorum. As you know the district needs a conservation easement as a condition of the violation remediation imposed by SFWMD. That easement provides legal covenants and detailed restrictions in the area to protect the disturbed area in perpetuity. Right now the Country Club has the easement and at last check has not given to the residents.
The district has until June 1st to get everything that is required submitted to SFWMD.
