A Gateway Services District Board of Supervisors meeting is never really complete unless Carol Stanley leaves us with a brilliant quote to take us merrily into the weekend. Last night when discussing the traffic committee's request to waste money on a study, she said: "I'm not going to pay for oatmeal." I have no idea what that means or what she has against oatmeal but it was worth the price of admission. She did vote in favor of allowing the traffic committee to spend $1,500. She would have been better off paying for oatmeal, because with the amount of fiber in oatmeal, both will produce the same thing...if you know what I mean...and oatmeal is a lot cheaper.
