Beware of the Bucar Buyout Election!

Fort Myers, FL

It's my understanding that election day in Stoneybrook is April 1st. Truly an appropriate day for what's taking place in that community. It's important residents of Stoneybrook pay close attention to this election. In the end, it could wind up costing you a lot of money if it does not go your way. You may also want to consider going to the board meeting tonight at 7PM which is held in your clubhouse. Ask your current board members if they favor a Bucar buyout?

There are 7 people running for 3 seats in Stoneybrook. One of those people running is current member Sheri Bucar. The same Sheri Bucar that tried to take down Waste Management with Paul Fish of Pelican Preserve. The same Sheri Bucar that is now attempting to get Stoneybrook residents to pay her legal bills because she claims she was acting as a board member when she frivolously targeted WM. For a little history, I've revived my original story for you (Bucar Wants Stoneybrook Residents to Pay Her Personal Legal Bills).

Bucar is out $30K having to defend herself against Waste Management. When the court ruled Bucar and Fish were merely whistling dixie, and had no case against them, they unleashed their corporate pitbulls on the  two residents. Bucar is claiming that Stoneybrook management company Alliant was negligent in not having professional liability insurance covering board members. She claims "gross negligence" on the part of Alliant and she says the Stoneybrook HOA is ultimately responsible. All this mumbo jumbo means that she wants you people to pay her back.

There is good news and bad news. The good news is that it appears that most of your current HOA board believes Bucar is off her rocker. The bad news is that an election where she gets her cronies in the open seats could sway a vote her way, costing you tens of thousands of dollars. Chances are you are going to have to defend yourself in a lawsuit she files against you anyway. That's correct. A current board member will be sueing the residents. Is that seomeone you want representing you?

I don't live in Stoneybrook and God knows they are never going to let me through the guard gate so it's really up to you people to get the word out to your neighbors about the election. Here's something else to keep in mind. Warren Davies is also a candidate. I hear, but have not confirmed yet, that Mr. Davies is in favor of a Bucar buyout. You'll have to ask him for yourself. Davies is a past president of Stoneybrook. One day something happened he didn't like so he got up and quit. Maybe ask him why he did that.

If the Stoneybrook HOA really wanted to get the residents involved (I doubt many of them even know about the election) they would be proactive and post all of the resume's and goals of the candidates on their website and in the clubhouse. I scanned the entire Stoneybrook website. There is not a single mention of the election, how residents can run or information about the candidates. The election is in 21 days.

Margaret Fineberg is the President of your HOA. She is also a Gateway Services District board member. I e-mailed her yesterday letting her know I'd be happy to promote a candidates night for Stoneybrook residents. I'm not surprised I have not heard back. In Gateway, we've learned, it's not limited government we strive for, it's limited resident involvment.
