Country Club Offers Bad Wetland 47 Proposal
Some of the Supervisors had not seen it until yesterday. It'll be interesting to see if any of the Supervisors have really had a chance to study it before tomorrow night. And, there are things in it that are surely not beneficial to Gateway residents.
The "it" I'm referring to is an Operation and Maintenance Agreement proposed and signed by the president of the Gateway Golf and Country Club sent to the Board of Supervisors. The document is on the agenda for tomorrow night and it will be amazing if they vote on it knowing how controversial this subject is.
The document outlines a relationship between the club and the district (the residents) which can best be described this way...Here are the eyes of the residents. Now, you can no longer see the eyes of the residents. They are covered by wool! The club wants the district (you and me) to pay for the restoration work that needs to be done to Wetland 47. The work that needs to be done as a result of the damage the club did. That seems fair. I'd like a noose around my neck to go with the wool over my eyes please! You can read the entire Country Club Document HERE.
Is everyone forgetting we already paid an $11,500 fine for the damage the club did? Is everyone forgetting we already racked up a 100,000 bill for Wetland 47 to try to get this resolved? How about the club pays for the restoration and re-imburses us for the fine. That sounds fair to me. How about the district start taking action against Friendly Fire and The Country Club to try and recoup some of the money we've been robbed of. It's always the collective taxpayer that gets the short end of the stick. Government agencies like to say things like well if you really break it down it comes out to be $7.00 per resident over a 9 year period. The facts are the facts, the country club violated the wetland and the residents are getting stuck with the bill.
