Gateway Gazette readers are nearly unanimous. They do not want any more money spent on a traffic study for a stadium that is going up no matter what. Only 5% of the people who took the survey want another study. That's 5 people. How many people are on the traffic committee?
Now, you need to take one more step to put an end to this wasteful spending, and to possibly have a say in disbanding the traffic committee. Send your thoughts about both topics to Supervisor Gary Neubauer. Neubauer is soliciting feedback from residents so he is armed with your feedback at the next Supervisors meeting which is Thursday night. So you only have 6 days to get him your message.
It's nice to finally see someone is listening to the residents. However, it's going to take more than a few of you to help change the direction of the board. The Nielson/Fineberg wing of the board will most likely stand behind the committee's plans to spend money. It's that side of the table that is fine with sending Bill Knight on an unbudgeted conference. It's Fineberg who is now working on getting the district into an association with other special districts. Again, this is unbudgeted. The thinking is always how to grow the CDD when the thinking should ALWAYS be how to shrink it.
We can stop them from spending if we are vocal enough with the Supervisors who always looking at the district with a sharpened pencil, Neubauer and Supervisor Ed Sichel. It's also important to ask the following question: Exactly when was this money approved? It's hard to understand if this was approved in the current budget or years ago and the committee just assumed it would roll over.
